METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS.
Climate conditions were generally good throughout the
year, and fortunately, the past winter was less severe than the
previous one.
The Borough Engineer has kindly supplied the following
details for 1948 from records kept by his Department at the
Climatological Station at Church House Grounds:—
Total rainfall: 24.48 inches.
Mean maximum daily temperature: 59.3°.
Mean minimum daily temperature: 43.5°.
Highest maximum temperature recorded: 92° (on 28th July, 1948).
Lowest grass temperature recorded—no records available, due to the
thermometer having been stolen and a replacement instrument not
being available.
