OPHTHALMIA NEONATORUM.
Two cases were notified. One case was discovered by the
Doctor at the welfare centre during medical inspections The
case was referred to hospital for treatment and eventually
cleared up with unimpaired vision. The other case also received
hospital treatment and cleared up with vision unimpaired.
All cases of inflammation of the eyes, or eye discharge, must
be notified by midwives and thus early follow-up is assured and
delay in treatment is avoided.
