Nursery Schools.
At the request of the Ministry of Labour and under
arrangements approved by the Board of Education, the
Education Committee will extend the Nursery Class at
Burnt Ash Infants Council School to accommodate 40
children under 5 years of age instead of 25 as at present
and will establish two Play Centres, one at Burnt Ash
and the other at Raglan Road Council Schools.
The extended Nursery Class and the Centres arc for
the children of women war workers only, and are for the
purpose of accommodating the children of mothers
already in employment and those who would undertake
employment if they were relieved of the care of their
children during the day.
The Class and Centres will be open from 7 a.m. to
7 p.m. (7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays) and breakfast,
dinner and tea will be provided.
