12 came from large families.
4 were only children.
10 showed no abnormality.
In a generalisation of the results obtained from this
survey, the opinion is confirmed that malnutrition is a
bad term and should not be associated with bad feeding.
A proper dieting would have little effect on the selected
children; there are so many other factors that play a
more important part in this question of poor physique,
factors which are the fundamentals of Public Health,
lacking even in an area of a good residential type such as
is Bromley.
As these adverse factors are being eliminated over
the years of work by the Local Authority, so do we get
improvement in the physique and well-being of the
children. That improvement is taking place is visibly
obvious to all of us who have been many years in the
service of Public Health.
Reference to Provision of Meals is made under that
heading in Section C of this Report.
