This continued high stillbirth rate is a disturbing
factor, and not one to be ignored in the consideration of
conditions of child birth in Bromley. The cause of stillbirths
cannot be correctly stated in each case unless postmortem
examination is made, but generally speaking the
deaths are preventable by adequate attention to the
Ante-natal and Natal conditions of the mother. The
three mortality rates of stillbirths, maternal and neo-natal
are one problem and are not to be considered separately.
Deaths.
The Death Kate for 1936 is 9.4 as corrected by the
comparabilitv factor. A similar rate was recorded for 1935.
