the Metropolitan Water Board's Report for 1934, which
shows the results of bacteriological and chemical
examinations of deep well waters, being the averages for
twelve months ended 31st December, 1934:—

Scavenging.
The public cleansing services have been functioning
normally throughout the year. There is no extension of
improvement in refuse collection and disposal to record.
Swimming Baths and Pools.
The filtration and chlorination installation at the
Corporation's Swimming Bath at Southlands Road
continues to work satisfactorily.
Rats and Mice Destruction Act, 1919.
The general public evinced some increased interest in
"Rat Week" of 1935 as is shown by the statistics below
of the comparative statement of distribution of poisons.
An exhibition of stuffed rats and poison products was
again organised by the Chief Sanitary Inspector and
proved a useful medium for instruction in the best methods
