number of itinerant hawkers who become such a nuisance
to the busy housewife whose only remedy is not to answer
the ring or knock on the door. In recent years these visits
have been tabulated separately in maternity and child
welfare statistics in this area, as obviously they make no
substantial contribution to health visiting work and the
teaching of motliercraft.
Approximately the areas cover the district as follows:—
