It is to be noted that 42 births, i.e., 6 per cent. of
total live births, were born out of wedlock, and statistics
show that these births have not the same expectation of
life as those born in wedlock.

Stillbirths.
Rate per 1,000 births, 23.5.
Seventeen stillbirths were registered in 1934, whereas
15 were notified under the Notification of Births Act, 1907.
The latter figure is subject to correction for inward and
outward transfers, and therefore the former figure is the
accepted one for statistical record.
