MASS RADIOGRAPHY
During September Mass Radiography Unit 6A again visited Wood
Green after an interval of two years. The number of persons
X-rayed at Public Sessions was higher than the previous visit,
2, 856 as compared with 1,323. This may, I feel be fairly attributed
to the fact that in previous years the Unit had remained static,
whereas on this occasion they visited four different sites within
the Borough Leaflets were prepared by the Unit giving details
of the public sessions. These were distributed through the usual
channels- The utmost publicity was given by the display of
banners, newspaper advertisements, posters, window displays and
bookmarks.
Set out on the following pages are tables showing the number of
persons who attended for X-ray together with a table showing the
abnormalities discovered.
The results are very similar to previous visits. The fall in the
tuberculosis rate continues and for the first time the figure for
significant tuberculosis (that requiring immediate treatment) was
below the average in other areas covered by Unit 6A,
