598 premises have been inspected by the Council's Rodent
Operator, and it was found necessary to carry out treatment in
143 of these.
Two thousand and seventy-three visits were made.
During the year two maintenance treatments of the soil sewers
were carried out; one in April, and one in November-December.
In April, 642 manholes were baited; in 88 of them a complete
prebait take was registered, and in 235 a partial prebait take.
In the November-December treatment, 203 complete prebait
takes were registered and 54 partial takes.
All the manholes in which prebait takes were registered were
poison baited.
The Public Health Department and the Borough Engineer's
Department again co-operated in carrying through the sewer treatment,
the Borough Engineer supplying the men to do the work.
