Hats and Mice (Destruction) Act, 1919.
521 premises have been, inspected, and it was found necessary to
carry out treatment in 162 of these. One thousand eight hundred and
fifty-eight visits were made.
During June and July a maintenance treatment of the soil
sewers was carried out.
A maintenance treatment consists of pre-baiting the manholes
•on each of two days, followed by poison baiting, those manholes
-which showed a pre-bait take.
638 manholes were pre-baited; in 363 of these a pre-bait was
[registered and they were poison baited.
The Public Health Department and the Borough Engineer's
Department co-operated in carrying through the sewer treatment,
three squads of three men each being supplied by the Borough
Engineer.
