treatment be obtained as soon as possible. Later, the Visitation
Officer visits the homes, and continues to visit at intervals until the
treatment recommended has been provided. The number of visits
paid during the year in following up defects found has been 1,970.
VI1.—ARRANGEMENTS FOR TREATMENT.
These arrangements have remained as in former years. Whereever
possible parents are expected to obtain treatment for their
children privately from the family doctor or at hospital. Where
family circumstances make this impossible, provision has been

the Royal Northern Hospital, and X-ray treatment for ringworm
at the Royal Northern Hospital.

Committee's scheme, for enlarged tonsils and adenoids, while
twenty-six were dealt with privately by their own doctors or in
hospital. The children dealt with under the Committee's scheme
are admitted to the Prince of Wales, Royal Northern or North
Middlesex Hospital for a minimum of two nights, being admitted

the operation. They are brought home in the Council's ambulance,
