AMBULANCE FACILITIES.
(a) Infectious Cases.
By arrangement between the Joint Isolation Hospital Committee
and the London County Council, cases of infectious disease
are removed to hospital in ambulances belonging to the London
County Council.
(b) Non-Infectious and Accident Cases.
The Council provides a Motor Ambulance for the conveyance
of non-infectious, sick and accident cases, which is housed at the
Fire Station and is available at all hours.
During the year tlhe ambulance was used on 2,167 occasions,
273 being cases of accident or cases of illness in the street. In
addition 201 cases were carried for us by ambulances belonging to
other authorities.
The total mileage for the year was 14,317. The sums received
from various users amounted in all to £36 8s. 0d.
I have reported on more than one occasion to the Public Health
Committee that one ambulance is no longer adequate for all the
work required, and that a second ambulance is necessary. I am glad
to state that steps are now being taken to meet this requirement.
(c) Maternity Cases.
The Council's ambulance is also used when necessary to carry
maternity cases to hospital.
CLINICS AND TREATMENT CENTRES.
The days and hours of all Clinics and Treatment Centres were
given in detail in my Annual Report for 1935, and as there has
been no change during the year it is not necessary to repeat the
information here.
Details of these Clinics and centres are shown in leaflets which
have been provided at all the Post Offices in the Borough and are
available there on request.
