(6) Non-Infectious and Accident Cases.
The Council provides a Motor Ambulance for the conveyance
of non-infectious, sick and accident cases, which is housed at
the Fire Station and is available at all hours.
During the year the ambulance was used on 1,568 occasions,
163 being cases of street accident (2 of which were for neighbouring
authorities) and 47 cases of illness in the street.
The total mileage for the year was 11,895. The sums received
from various users amounted in all to £20 12s. 6d.
I have recently reported to the Public Health Committee on
the necessity for the provision of a second ambulance. The
recommendation has been approved by the Committee but the
ambulance has not yet been provided.
(c) Maternity Cases.
The Council's ambulance is also used when necessary to carry
maternity cases to hospital.
CLINICS AND TREATMENT CENTRES.
The days and hours of all Clinics and Treatment Centres
were given in detail in my Annual Report for 1935, and as there
has been no change during the year it is not necessary to repeat
the information here.
