The number of children dealt with by Dr. Boden at the Eye
Clinic was 782, 316 of these being new cases. 313 children had
spectacles prescribed for them, and of this number 293 had obtained
the spectacles by the end of the year. In addition, a further
18 children were provided with spectacles privately or at hospital.
All the children dealt with by Dr. Boden are seen by him at regular
intervals at the Clinic, and in this way careful supervision is
exercised over all children for whom spectacles have been prescribed
under the Committee's scheme. Lists of children who ought to be
wearing spectacles are kept at each school, and any alterations
made in these lists are notified to the head teachers. The Eye
Clinic is held at the Maternity and Child Welfare Centre in White
Hart Lane.
(d) Ear Disease and Defective Hearing.
Like the Eye Clinic, the Ear Clinic is held at the Maternity
and Child Welfare Centre in White Hart Lane. The number of
children seen by Dr. Friel during the year was 185, of whom 25
were children under school age. and the total attendances made were 541.

59 of the children treated were suffering from suppurative ear disease, and the results of the treatment given are shown in the following table.
