BATHS.
The bathing facilities in Wood Green were very much improved
during 1934 by the opening in August of the new open-air bathing
pool in Durnsford Road. The pool is of the most modern type,
measuring 165 feet by 92 feet, with a depth increasing from 3ft.
6in. to 15 feet, and a total cubic capacity of 600,000 gallons. It
is supplied with cubicle, dressing room and locker accommodation
sufficient for approximately 1,000 users, adequate sun-bathing
space, a cafe and car park. The water is passed through a filtration
plant supplied by Messrs. Bell Brothers, of Denton, which
filters, strains, aerates and chlorinates the whole contents of the
pool once in every six hours. The attendances during the eight
weeks the new pool was open amounted 51,827.

The attendances at the Western Road Baths and the open-air bath on the racecourse at Alexandra Park for 1934 and the three preceding years are shown below.
