MATERNITY AND CHILD WELFARE.
Ante-Natal Clinic.
The work of this Department is being conducted with much
acceptance by Dr. Aileen Boyd-Mackay, who was appointed in
March, 1921, as Assistant Medical Officer in respect of Maternity
and Child Welfare work. One session each week is devoted to
Ante-Natal work. The number of expectant mothers visiting this
Clinic is slowly increasing, and in addition to the interview with,
and examination by, the Doctor, advice upon infant clothing is
given and a specimen set of the style recommended is kept
there. Medical supervision and help at this particular time
of a woman's life is most valuable, and is often productive of much
more safety and comfort than if matters are left to chance. All
those who desire or need this assistance are welcome. Dr. BoydMackay
also holds two sessions each week at the Maternity and
Child Welfare Centres.
