Institutional Provision for:—
(a) Unmarried Mothers.
No provision is made at present, but individual cases are
dealt with, and suitable accommodation is found for them at the
North Middlesex Hospital.
(b) Illegitimate Infants and Homeless Children.
No special provision is made for the above, but individual
cases requiring help are dealt with as they occur.
AMBULANCE FACILITIES.
(a) Infectious Cases.
The Council have their own horse-drawn brougham, which is
only used in case of emergency. As a rule an ambulance (with nurse
in attendance) is sent from the Isolation Hospital for the removal of
patients.
(b) Non-infectious Cases.
The Wood Green Motor Ambulance is kept at the Fire Station
for use at any time during the whole of the twenty-four hours.
We have an arrangement with the adjoining Authorities for
the interchange of ambulances, should either be unavailable due
to being under repair, etc., so that at no time is the District without
an ambulance for urgent cases requiring removal.

The number of journeys made by the Wood Green Motor Ambulance during the five years 1921 to 1925 inclusive are as follows:—
