FOOD INSPECTIONS.
There are four slaughter-houses in the District, all of which
have been frequently inspected. Three of these premises are old
and have been in use for many years, but generally speaking they
are kept in a clean and satisfactory condition, and owing to food
control they have been, and are, very little used at the present for
slaughtering.
One slaughter-house is built on modern lines, and the whole
of the slaughtering in the District has been carried out here during
the year.
In the course of inspection the following have been surrendered:
Meat:—
44 lbs. of beef.
Kidneys and offal of heifer.
16 lbs. ham.
343 lbs. bacon.
201 rabbits.
25 lbs. of sausages.
3 tins of corned beef.
5 tins of tinned meat.
Fish:—
2 cases of herrings.
10 boxes of kippers.
10 stone skate.
2 boxes of skate.
1 box hake.
1 box cod.
1 trunk rock salmon.
