During 1937 cases with chronic mastoid disease have been admitted to the Hospital for
operation. The average period of these cases is three weeks, and after this time the children attend
for dressings at their respective health centres, or, in particular cases, the surgical block at the
Hospital. The total of cases operated on for mastoid disease is 18 (15 from the health centres and
3 acute cases from the Hospital).
The Scheme is working smoothly and the numbers of cases referred, and operations performed,
are increased compared with the corresponding period last year.
