Note by Dr. Buchan.
17. (/) The Education Committee have established the Leinster Mentally Defective School
which provides adequate accommodation for those mentally defective children who are suitable to
attend a special day school. Those children who are unsuitable for this school are sent by the
Committee to residential schools for the mentally defective.
" 17. (g) The accommodation for blind and deaf children in the country is generally sufficient,
but some additional provision for partially sighted and partially deaf children is desirable.
In the case of partially sighted children this provision should be made in close connection with the
ordinary public elementary schools on the lines recommended by the Committee on Partially
Sighted Children. The question of provision for partially deaf children is at present being considered
by a similar Committee, whose report will be published in due course."
Note by Dr. Buchan.
17. (g) The Education Committee make provision for the education of partially deaf children
by sending them to the Ackmar Road Partially Deaf School, Fulham, of the London County Council,
and of partially sighted children by sending them either to the Swiss Cottage School for the Blind, the
Amberley Road Myope School, Paddington, of the London County Council, or to some other suitable
institution.
