THE FIFTH ANNUAL REPORT ON
NURSERY CLASSES
for the
Year ending 31st December, 1935.
Medical inspections were carried out in the Lower Place Nursery Classes as in previous years,
but during 1935 Medical inspections were carried out for the first time in the Nursery Classes started
in October, 1934 at the following schools:—Bridge Road, Carlton Vale, Kensal Rise, Chamberlayne
Wood Road, Braintcroft and Dudden Hill Infants.
Two more Nursery Classes were started during the year, one at Princess Frederica Infants
School and the other at Leopold Road Infants School. Medical inspections in these Classes do not
commence until 1936.

During the year 222 children were examined and the following table shows the numbers and percentages of individual defects found.

During the year 2 children were re-examined, one was suffering from genu valgum associated
with subnormal nutrition and the other from enlarged tonsils.
The standard of cleanliness was high, only 3 children being found nitty or verminous.
