Enteric Fever.
Seven cases of Paratyphoid Fever B were admitted during the year. All were of a moderate
type with no serious complications, and no deaths occurred.
Erysipelas.
Forty-six cases of this disease were treated during the year. Two deaths occurred.
Measles.
1935 was not a "measles" year, consequently the number of cases admitted, 36, is small.
One death occurred from broncho-pneumonia.
A considerable number of these cases were adults, and nearly all of them consented to be bled
during their convalescence. The stock of convalescent measles serum in hand amounted to 1,520 c.c.
at the middle of January.
Mixed Infections.
Scarlet Fever and Mumps 9

Puerperal Infections.
The 13 cases of Puerperal Infections which were admitted during the year may be classified
as follows :—
Septicaemia 3
Mammary Abscess 3
Local Uterine Sepsis 2
Puerperal Mania 1
Mastitis 1
Bacilluria 1
Phlebitis 1
Abdominal Colic 1
One of the cases of septicaemia proved fatal, the infection being an extremely virulent one.
The woman was admitted to Hospital on the third day after confinement and died 4 hours later.
The other two cases of septicaemia eventually recovered after prolonged illnesses. Both were streptococcal
infections.
Scarlet Fever.
The number of cases of Scarlet Fever treated in Hospital during the year was 428 as compared
with 777 cases for the previous year. Two deaths occurred, both in adult females aged 32 and 25
respectively. One case was complicated with nephritis and pneumonia, and the other one was of a
severe toxic type.
Whooping Cough.

Sixty-nine cases were treated and five deaths occurred, four of which were due to bronchopneumonia and one to gastro-enteritis.
