GENERAL PROVISION OF HEALTH SERVICES FOR THE AREA.
LABORATORY FACILITIES.
Laboratory facilities are dealt with in the Annual Report on the Municipal Hospital, page 69.
AMBULANCE FACILITIES.
Motor Ambulances are available as follows:—
(a) For infectious cases—
1 ambulance.
(b) For non-infectious cases, accident cases and maternity cases—
3 ambulances.
These motor ambulances have been established and are maintained by the Willesden Borough
Council. The garage is situated at the Municipal Hospital, Brentfield Road, Neasden, N.W. 10.
An all night service is in operation but it is only partial as there is only one driver on duty
and any calls received when he is out cannot be dealt with.
A detailed report on the service for the financial year 1933-34 will be found in Appendix C.
NURSING IN THE HOME.
There have been no changes in the arrangements for the above outlined in the 1931 Annual
Report. Page 13, Home Nursing Service.
CLINICS AND TREATMENT CENTRES.
There are no developments or changes to be noted. The work of the Clinics appears in other
parts of the Report.
HOSPITALS.
During the year the Council resolved to extend the Willesden Maternity Hospital. The
extension was opened on 29th December, 1934. The Hospital, as extended, will be able to deal with
approximately 1,000 cases per annum.
MIDWIFERY AND MATERNITY SERVICES.
Midwifery.
In accordance with Section 10 of the Midwives Act, 1902, 40 Midwives gave notice in the month
of January, 1935, of their intention to practice in Willesden.
Maternity Service.
There are no developments or changes to record.
The Service is dealt with in other parts of the Report.
INSTITUTIONAL PROVISION FOR MOTHERS OR CHILDREN.
There are no developments or changes to record except as under Hospitals above.
HEALTH VISITORS—INFANT LIFE PROTECTION—ORTHOPÆDIC TREATMENT.
There is nothing to record except what is set out elsewhere in the Report.
