PART III.
MATERNITY AND CHILD WELFARE.
The progress mentioned in last year's report continues, for the number of mothers and
infants treated amounted to 780. Last year 767 were treated, but 67 of these failed to accept full
advantage of complete restoration to oral health. Whereas, this year 13 only failed to have their
mouths completely restored to a hygienic condition.
The work involved in the treatment of these 780 cases included 5,750 extractions, 1,011
fillings, 1,326 various other operations and also necessitated the provision of dentures to 256
mothers.
The time employed to deal with these cases was 314 sessions.
Full details of inspections, treatments and other data in connection with Maternity and
Child Welfare work are shown fully in the table below.
