In addition to the above the Council undertook the cost of treatment of 2 children of school age in the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital who were referred to Hospital by other agencies.
Altogether, including those brought forward from last year, the Council maintained children in hospital for orthopaedic defects as follows:-
I. Maternity and Child Welfare-Children under 5 years of age 9
II. School children-
(a) Under arrangements made under Education Act, 1921, Section 80:
(i.) Ordinary Elementary School Children 11
(ii.) Special Schools Children 5
(b) Under Special Schools Vote 3
