There have been no changes in the arrangements for the above outlined in 1931 Annual
Report.
Midwives—Employment of, or subsidy to, practising Midwives, by Public Health Authority.
There has been no change in the arrangements during 1932.
In accordance with Section 10 of the Midwives Act, 1902, 32 Midwives gave notice in the
month of January, 1933, of their intention to practise in Willesden.
CLINICS AND TREATMENT CENTRES.
These remain as indicated in the Annual Health Reports for 1930 and 1931. Reports of the
Dermatologist, the Oculist, and the Orthopaedic Surgeon appear as appendices.
HOSPITALS.
There is no change to record in the Hospital services set out in the 1930 Report.
INSTITUTIONAL PROVISION FOR UNMARRIED MOTHERS, ILLEGITIMATE
INFANTS AND HOMELESS CHILDREN IN THE DISTRICT.
These remain as stated in the Annual Health Report for 1930 with the addition of the National
Adoption Society's Hostel at Connaught House, Acton Lane, N.W. 10.
AMBULANCE FACILITIES.
Motor Ambulances are available as follows:-
(a) For infectious cases—
1 ambulance.
(b) For non-infectious cases, accident cases and maternity cases—
3 ambulances.
These motor ambulances have been established and are maintained by the Willesden Urban
District Council. The garage is situated at the Municipal Hospital, Brentfield Road, Neasden,
N.W. 10.
An all night service is in operation but it is only partial as there is only one driver on duty
and any calls received when he is out cannot be dealt with.
A detailed report on the service for the financial year 1931-32 will be found in Appendix C.
