It will be seen from the foregoing tables that there has been a small increase in the number of
individuals taking advantage of the facilities provided by the Council for protection against diphtheria,
but it might be reasonably expected that the numbers would be very considerably larger. The statistics
in respect of the nursing staff can be regarded as very satisfactory. They demonstrate the value
of this method of preventive medicine both as regards the benefit to individual members of the staff,
and in the saving of public funds.
