(ii.) The work of the Association has increased each year regularly-—
More attendances at Clinics.
More home visits paid,
and if this is maintained as we have every reason to expect, it will be necessary
to have another afternoon clinic (£1 l1s. 6d. per week, £79 per annum).
(iii.) We hope to have the services of a trained Masseuse for four hours a week at a cost
of approximately £1 per week.
Note by M.O.H.—It may be assumed that the increases under (c) (i.) and (ii.) above in previous
years are reflected in the increased expenditure and grants as shown above.
With regard to item (iii.) of future commitments, this is a possibility of expansion which may
or may not develop and which it is therefore difficult to assess for grant.
Having regard to all these factors it would appear to be not unreasonable to add £30 to the
Grants payable for the previous year during each of the three years 1930-33 as follows:—
Based on figures Based on figures
supplied by supplied by
Voluntary Asscn. Ministry of Health.
£ s. d. £ s. d.
1930-31 537 5 6 509 19 7
1931-32 567 5 6 539 19 7
1932-33 597 5 6 569 19 7
This means that the grant payable per annum for each of the 3 years, 1930-31, 1931-32, and
1932-33 would be £567 5s. 6d. based on the figures supplied by the Voluntary Association or
£539 19s. 7d. on the figures supplied by the Ministry of Health.

Garden shelter).
1926-27 959 14 10
Note by M.O.H.—From the above it will be seen that the total cost of the services after
excluding the special expenditure mentioned has been as follows for the three years:—
£ s. d.
1928-29 987 7 11
1927-28 1,055 18 0

alterations).
1927-28 365 3 0
1926-27 383 11 11
Note by M.O.H. From the above it will be seen that the total grants paid by the Ministry
of Health excluding grant for building alterations have been as follows for the 3 years:—
£ s.d.
1928-29 357 2 8
1927-28 365 3 0
1926-27 383 11 11
(c) Future Commitments.
(i.) Salaries increase from time to time (Matron £10 every two years ; Nurse £5 every
two years).
(ii.) If numbers increase, it may be necessary to have another Probationer £12 a year,
and £50 Board.
Note by M.O.H. It would appear fair to assume that the effect of items (c) (i) and (ii) above
in previous years is reflected in the total cost of services and total grants paid as set out above.
