NOTES TO TABLE III.
The classification of Causes of Death are those of the "Short
List" on page XXV. or the Manual of the International List of
Causes of Death.
(a) All "Transferable Deaths" of residents, i.e., of persons
dent in the District who have died outside it, are included
with the other deaths in columns 2-10. Transferable deaths
of non-residents, i.e., persons resident elsewhere in England
and Wales who have died in the District, are in liloe manner
excluded from these columns.
(b) All deaths occurring in Institutions for the sick and infirm
situated within the district, whether ai residents or nonresidents,
are entered in the last column of Table III.
(c) All deaths certified by registered Medical Practitioners and all
Inquest cases are classed as "Certified"; all other deaths
are regarded as "uncertified."
(d) Exclusive of "Tuberculous Meningitis" but inclusive of
Cerebro-Spinal Meningitis.
(e) Includes deaths from Diarrhœa and Enteritis at all ages.
