It should be observed that all this work would be linked
up with the entire scheme of education administration, as
naturally a clerk from the Education Office would take the
minutes of the Divisional Care Committee Meetings for
report to the Central Care Committee, which would be
attended as now by the Education Officer. This general
scheme, as outlined, would fall in line with Regulation 4 (e)
of the School Medical Service Grants, which states
that in fixing the rate of grant the Board will take into
consideration the scope, character and efficient working of
the authority's provision and arrangements for rendering the
School Medical Service an integral part of the system of
Elementary Education in the area.
Recommendations.
1. That notice be given to the existing part-time
Assistant School Medical Officers to terminate their engagements.
(Their appointments are yearly ones, and terminate
annually at the 31st December.)

Officers at a salary of ,£300 a year each.

allowance.
3. That the School Attendance Officers be placed in
the department of the School Medical Officer, who shall be
held responsible to the Education Committee for the due performance
of their duties.
i. That the existing Children's Care Committee be the
Central Care Committee.
5. That the Education Committee take steps to form
eight Divisional Care Committees to perform the work of the
existing School Attendance Committees and School Care
Committees.
