Excluding the cases classified as "vermin and want of
cleanliness," it is to be noted that 812 cases were visited by
the Health Visitors as cases urgently requiring treatment.
Of this number, 439 obtained medical or satisfactory treatment
; 239 obtained domestic or unsatisfactory treatment;
and 134 obtained no treatment.
It would thus appear that only 54 per cent. of children
receive satisfactory treatment for their ailments.
It is important to note that out of the 439 children who
received treatment, 258, or 59 per cent., obtained it subsequent
to visitation by the Health Visiitor.
