Diagram B.
Diagrammatic Analysis of 2599 cases of Measles, and of 2377 cases of Whooping Cough.
The primary cases were cases which, contracting the disease at school by contact with
scholars attending whilst in an infectious condition, were the first to introduce the infection
into their homes and there give rise to the cases indicated as secondary. Both the primary
and secondary cases are properly to be credited to the departments of the schools which
were the means of infecting the respective families.
