Home Helps.
Some extensions to this valuable service were made. Sometimes
families are met with where it would be of real assistance
to them to have even an hour or two's help during the day, and
for such the Council pay Is. 6d. per hour. Nowadays it is
equally difficult for all families, whatever their economic circumstances,
to obtain domestic assistance. The Council therefore
made the service available for families beyond the 100 per cent.
level of the economic scale.
