SANITARY CIRCUMSTANCES OF THE AREA.
i. Water.
(i) The greater part of the district is supplied with water
by the Colne Valley Water Company, but a small area of
Sudbury obtains its supply from the Rickmansworth Water
Company.
The London, Midland and Scottish Railway owns four
cottages which obtain their water from the Railway Company's
private supply.
Samples of these waters were submitted to the Clinical
Research Association for. analysis during the year, and the
results obtained were satisfactory. Appended is a table
showing the results of the chemical and bacteriological
examination. In a very few instances a supply tap serves
for more than one house.
There are no private wells in the district which are used
for the supply of water for domestic purposes.
