SMALLPOX.
On several occasions I have been asked to meet resident
practitioners to assist in the diagnosis of smallpox.
NON-NOTIFIABLE INFECTIOUS DISEASES.
The practice which has been in force with regard to
the exclusion notices received from the various schools still
continues and in any case where it is necessary that further
enquiries should be made a visit is paid to the home by one
of your Public Health Staff, and in cases of doubt parents
are persuaded to arrange for a child to be seen by a medical
practitioner. Where a number of cases of infectious disease
have occurred in schools it has always been my custom to
ascertain the names of those absent and to investigate the
cause of such absence.
