The number of new cases (8) is the lowest recorded since I took office
twenty years ago. The anti tuberculosis measures, mass radiography,
clinics etc. , are all playing a part in the scheme to reduce the incidence
of this disease. With improved housing conditions, better education,
antibiotics and the eradication of tuberculosis in bovine animals it would
seem possible now to bring about the defeat of tuberculosis in humans.
Cases removed for treatment are usually sent to Clare Hall Hospital,
