OTHER INFESTATIONS.
There was an increase in the requests for assistance and advice on dealing with
infestations, amounting to two hundred and ninety-nine enquiries, the majority of
which concerned wasps. During the year three hundred and sixty-two wasps nests
were destroyed on Council lands, etc. , and privately owned properties. A small
charge is made for this service to householders.
The infestations cover a variety of insects and other pests, e.g. beetles, ants,
cockroaches, fleas, flies, silver fish, woolly bears, woodworm and bugs.
