DRAINAGE,
In addition to the normal cleansing and repair works required to house
drains, the construction of domestic sewage plants to three new properties was
approved and supervised by the department.
After investigation notices were served in respect of two properties where
the- existing sewage disposal plants were considered inadequate to deal with the
existing flow through them, but the works had not been commenced during the year
Alterations and additions to one plant were required and effected, and one plant
was dispensed with by connecting the draimge of the property to the Council's
sewer.
The relaying of a "combined drain" was in progress at the end of the year
the work being carried out by a contractor under supervision of the department.
