PUBLIC HEALTH ACT. 1936. SECTION 172. COMPULSORY REMOVAL
TO HOSPITAL OF CASES OF PULMONARY TUBERCULOSIS.
No action was necessary under the above Section.
NATIONAL ASSISTANCE ACT. 1948. - SUCTION 47.
No official action has been taken under this Act to secure the
removal, to suitable premises, of persons in need of care and attention.
MORTAL STATISTICS.
Of 282 deaths, 8 occurred under one year of age.
The following were the chief causes cf death:- Heart Diseases 105;
Cancer 40 (19 males and 21 females); Vascular Lesions of nervous system
39; Bronchitis 12; Pneumonia (all forms) 12; Influenza 9;
Tuberculosis 5; Motor vehicle accidents 2; Other accidents 10.
SCABIES (PUBLIC HEALTH) NO, 1 ORDER. 1944.
Only one case of Scabies was notified during the year and this case,
an adult, was treated at home.
