MORTAL STATISTICS.
Of 196 deaths, 10 occurred under one year of age.
The following were the chief causes of death:Cancer
36 (11 males, 25 females); Heart Disease 60; Tuberculosis
(all forms) 6; Influenza 3; Cerebral Haemorrhage 11;
Bronchitis 4; Pneumonia (all forms) 6; Congenital Debility
and Malformation, Premature Birth 7; Acute and Chronic
nephritis 7; Suicide 4; other Violence 6.
CONTROL OF INFECTIOUS DISEASES.
So use has been made of the Schick and Dick Tests in
Diphtheria and Scarlet Fever.
VACCINATION.
No primary or revaccinations were performed by the Medical
Officcr of Health under the Public Health (Smallpox Prevention)
Regulations 1917.
