each case the necessary subsequent attendances, and for calls not for the
confinement itself, but before or after confinement 5s. for the first visit
(10s. 6d. if between 9 p.m. and 9 a.m.) and 2s. 6d. for each subsequent visit.
Subsequently a fee of one guinea to a doctor called in to administer an
anaesthetic was added to the scale.

Formation of Maternity and Child Welfare Advisory
Sub-Committee.
During 1917 an invitation was issued by the Council to the different
Maternity and Child Welfare Centres in the borough to appoint representatives
to a committee upon which the Council were also to be represented.

The committee was subsequently appointed as a sub-committee of the Public Health Committee under the title Maternity and Child Welfare Advisory Sub-Committee and with the following membership:—
