When these have been properly apportioned, the actual or
"corrected" number of persons who died belonging to the
Sanitary Area is found to be 2,588, of which number 1,306 were
males, and 1,282 females.
The death-rate when calculated on this "corrected" number is
21.2 per thousand, as against 20.5 last year. The birth-rate,
which was 35.2 last year, has been this year 34.7 per thousand
persons living.

the ago of 1 year, 340 from 1 to 5 years, 565 from 5 to 60 years,
143 from 60 to 70 years, 105 from 70 to 80 years, 44 from 80 to
90 years, and 4 from 90 years and upwards.
Deaths in the Sanitary Area—
The following are the ages at death:—751 died under the
age of 1 year, 438 from 1 to 5 years, 899 from 5 to 60 years, 224
from 60 to 70 years, 276 from 70 years and upwards.
