Phthisis and Diseases of the Respiratory Organs.
There were 25 deaths of persons belonging to this
District caused by phthisis, or an annual rate of 2.22 per
1,000 inhabitants; the corresponding rate for London was
1.72 per 1,000. There were also 11 deaths due to other
forms of tuberculosis.

38 deaths were caused by other diseases of the respiratory
organs, namely, pneumonia, bronchitis and pleurisy.
Influenza was the registered cause of 7 deaths. In
London the number was 1,283.
