and Dairies Regulations 1949.
Under the provisions of the Middlesex County Council Act,

Milk Regulations and Milk Sampling
During 1953, 79 samples of milk as against 77 in 1952 were
obtained and submitted to the Public Health Laboratory for
bacteriological examination. Three of the samples gave unsatisfactory
results on examination. In each case, this was taken up with the
purveyors concerned. Check samples were taken and proved
satisfactory.
Ice-Cream Sampling
During 1953, 75 samples of ice-cream as against 174 in 1952
and 77 in 1951, were obtained and submitted for bacteriological
examination. The results of examination of the 75 samples were:
Grade 1 — 68
2—6
„ 3—1
4 — nil
It was not found necessary to carry out any special investigation
into methods of manufacture, storage or distribution in respect
