in the scheme of preventive medicine. I never lose an opportunity
of stressing the fact that public health is very largely a matter
of teamwork. Unless every section of the team plays its part,
the results will never be satisfactory. We are fortunate in Southgate
that the community is willing, indeed eager, to co-operate. This
affords us very great satisfaction, and encourages us to continue
the work which has been such a prominent feature of our public
health programme during the past years.
I cannot let this opportunity pass without thanking the
burgesses for the support they have given to our health education
programme. I would equally be failing in my duty if I did not
express my personal thanks to the members of the Public Health
Committee, and to the Council as a whole, for similar encouragement
and support.
