ESTABLISHMENTS FOR MASSAGE OR SPECIAL TREATMENT.
Under the bye-laws governing this class of establishment,
the following licences and exemptions were granted
during 1940:
Two new licences, 12 renewals of existing licences,
and 5 exemptions to members of the medical profession
and/or the Chartered Society of Massage and Medical
Gymnastics.
PREVALENCE OF AND CONTROL OVER INFECTIOUS
AND OTHER DISEASES.
Five hundred and ninety one cases of infectious
disease were notified during the year, as against 147 in
1939 and 256 in 1938.
The Infectious Sickness Rate for the district was
8.88, as against 2.17 in 1939 and 3.8 in 1938.
