The re-organisation of the Maternity and Child
Welfare Clinics has already received mention.
The difficulty in maintaining suitable propaganda
work through the medium of talks, films, etc,
together with the whole question of how to deal
with the property owner at a time when materials
required to remedy sanitary defects were virtually
unprocurable, might also be instanced. It is
obvious that our problems will increase; by the
time this report is published, some of them will
be very evident. We may have to consider drastic
re-adjustments, but, for the moment we are still
capable of maintaining our previous policy.
For obvious reasons, this Report can
make no mention of the work carried out by members
of the Public Health Staff in relation to Civil
Defence.
I should like to conclude by thanking
the Members of the Borough Council and also my
Staff for the continued support which I have
received throughout the year. It may be a
platitude to state that team work is essential
to success, but none the less, this fact becomes
more and more apparent.
