GENERAL PROVISION OF HEALTH SERVICES.
HOSPITALS.- General Hospitals - The arrangements set
out in the Annual Reports for 1930 and 1938 relating
to the provision of general and special hospital
accommodation, together with the provision of maternity
beds for the inhabitants of Southgate, remain unaltered.
They still appear satisfactory.
ISOLATION HOSPITAL.- Improvements carried out during
1939 include:- Redecoration of wards; purchase of
additional furniture and equipment, stainless steel
fitments, and additional bed-pan sterilizers; improvements
to grounds; and replacement of obsolete, sanitary
apparatus.
Alterations and improvements scheduled for the
latter part of 1939 and for 1940 have been postponed.
