So far as can be ascertained, not a single child immunised
against diphtheria during 1937 developed olinieal diphtheria.
Typhoid Fever (including Paratyphoid).—Three cases of
paratyphoid B fever were notified during the year, as against 8
cases of typhoid and 2 of paratyphoid B fever during 1936. In all
three instances, the infection occurred in children between the
ages of 4 and 5, although there was no apparent connection between
any case. No evidence as to the source of infection was obtained.
Two cases were removed to the Isolation Hospital. All three cases
made a satisfactory recovery.
